The courses available at John Robert Powers Chicago/New York are designed to supplement your regular education, to help you develop the skills that are useful no matter what kind of career you choose.

The Children’s TV1 Workshop at John Robert Powers Chicago/New York  will further all children in the area of presentation, creativity, and public speaking, not just the ones wanting to pursue this as a serious hobby or career. This workshop will teach students the fundamentals of auditioning, basic commercial techniques, how to build confidence in front of the camera, interviewing skills, diction and elocution, and how to build a character.  At the completion of the workshop, the student will have developed skills for acting in television commercials, have improved confidence in front of the camera, and know the basics of auditioning. 

The Children’s Fashion and Commercial Print Workshop at John Robert Powers Chicago/New York will further children in the areas of confidence, visual poise, and fashion/commercial print modeling. This workshop will teach students photo posing, auditioning do’s and don’ts, professional model’s appearance, how to walk the runway, and the differences between fashion and commercial print. At the completion of the workshop, the student will have an increased confidence with photo posing, facial expressions, and auditioning skills.  They will be able to walk the runway and know how to pose naturally and confidently.

The Children’s Life Workshop at John Robert Powers Chicago/New York teaches personal development skills that help youngsters achieve higher self-esteem, overcome shyness, and gain more over-all confidence. This workshop will prepare them for the future as well as give them the leading edge for today. It is not only meant for aspiring models and actors. This course can and should be taken by anyone wanting to excel and succeed. Topics covered in this workshop include public speaking, manners, etiquette, grooming, creating a great first impression, voice and diction, fashion coordination and wardrobe, visual poise, and goal setting. At the completion of the workshop, the student will have developed their social awareness and social skills, improved their public speaking, and have a better understanding of proper behavior and etiquette in social settings.

The Children’s Professional Modeling and Professional Acting Workshop at John Robert Powers Chicago/New York will further all children in the area of presentation, creativity and public speaking, not just the ones wanting to pursue this as a serious hobby or career. This workshop will teach students photo posing, slating, auditioning do’s and don’ts, professional model’s appearance, how to walk the runway, basic commercial techniques, how to build confidence in front of the camera, interviewing skills, diction and elocution,  how to build a character,  and the differences between fashion and commercial print. At the completion of the workshop, the student will have developed skills for acting in television commercials, have improved confidence in front of the camera,  will have developed their social awareness and social skills, improved their public speaking,  have a better understanding of proper behavior and etiquette in social settings, have an increased confidence with photo posing, facial expressions, and auditioning skills.  They will be able to walk the runway and know how to pose naturally and confidently.
